Eye eye

Went for a massage with Leah today. My legs are really painful this week. It was agony! Total and utter agony!! ~pained look~ But i was energised enough or so high on adrenaline from the pain that i had the strength to drive into town, pay in a cheque, buy Jake an 18th birthday card and book up an eye test. I was a bit concerned that i would make an appointment for an eye test and then be too ill to go but my sight seems to have got a lot worse in the last 9 months or so and I’m as blind as a bat in the mornings. By lunch time i can see most things but still have problems reading texts or labels in the supermarket.

I did all my errands and walking to the opticians i was still worrying about not being able to make an appointment but thought id deal with it when it happened. I love lifes little coincidences and the way you just have to put the thought out there ……. they had an appointment for 15 minutes time ….. wow!!! Chatting away to the optician he asked if i had any other medical conditions and i mentioned ME/CFS and said id been worried about booking an appointment and how lucky it was there was a free appointment for me. He looked really confused and said – are you saying that you only made this appointment 15 minutes ago? I confirmed that and he said that it was really odd because he knew he had this appointment when he went to lunch an hour ago. Someone must have cancelled whilst I was on my way to town worrying about not making the appointment. Doo dee doo doo, Doo dee doo doo …. spooky!

It turns out that my right eye has 20/20 perfect vision but my left eye is causing the blurry vision. Apparently its not as bad as it should be for my age so its not as bad as i thought it was. ~slight pleased smile~ The lady who did the preliminary tests told me that once i was 40 i would get a free test annually because i have known Glaucoma in my family (my mother found out a couple of weeks ago after wondering for a while why her binoculars didn’t work at certain angles ~wry look ~) but as i was a few years off that then bi annually was usually fine. She then asked how far off 40 i was…..

ME: 11 years

HER: Ah, i thought so.

ME: Yes, im 51.

HER: Ha ha ha!

ME: No really im 51.

HER: Wow! Im 51, i thought you were mid 30s.

ME: Well you are in the perfect place for an eye test (i thought)

ME: Well thats made my day. I must go out with no makeup on again ha ha! ~HUGE great big grin~

You know, i do actually LOVE my life!

AND my new glasses!
